Little Dresses for Africa
History:
Little Dresses for Africa Founded in 2008 by Rachel O’Neill is a registered non-profit 501c3 Christian organization.
MISSION: To provide relief to vulnerable children throughout the Continent of Africa and beyond.
HOW? Volunteers join together to make little dresses out of pillow cases or other simple patterns.
WHY? To plant in the hearts of little girls that they are worthy.
Some sew. Some pack. Some donate materials and/or shipping money. Some go to Africa. Some send others. Together, we make a difference, one little dress at a time!

How We Make a Difference:
First Baptist Church of Kankakee has been involved in LDA since July 2013. Every quarter we gather
together on a Saturday at First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in January, April, July and October to
sew dresses made from pillowcases. We then mail the dresses to Brownstown, MI headquarters for LDfA to
shipped and distributed and to date we have sewn and mailed 1028 dresses.
